How to play your DeputyDJ set properly in Spotify
Playback settings matter. Shuffle and heavy skipping can undo a good build very quickly.
A good DeputyDJ build can be ruined by the wrong Spotify playback settings.
The order is intentional, so playback needs to respect that.
DeputyDJ doesn’t pick songs. It orders them.
Start with the basics
- Shuffle off
- Play the playlist in order
- Download the playlist before parties or events
- Avoid skipping unless something is clearly wrong
If you shuffle or skip heavily, you break the build, transitions, and ending.
Useful Spotify settings
- Crossfade: start around 5 to 8 seconds
- Normalise volume: on
- Automix or Mix mode: optional, only if it sounds good with that playlist
Crossfade is conditional. It works best when the tracks are already similar.
Mix or Automix is optional. It helps only when the tracks already line up well.
If the tracks are too different, aggressive mixing can sound rough.
Play it in order, keep shuffle off, and let the structure do its job.
